Assistant Master Electrician

Richmond Ballet, the State Ballet of Virginia, is looking for an Assistant Master Electrician for the 2021-2022 Season. Richmond Ballet’s mission is to awaken and uplift the human spirit, both for audiences and artists. The ideal candidate for this position must be detail-oriented and remain focused in a fast paced working environment. Prior theatrical electrician experience is required. Duties include assisting the Master Electrician with execution of lighting plots for each show, EOS Family console configuration and programming, network configuration and management (physical networks as well as ETC Net3, sACN, ArtNet, and OSC), programming and operating lighting console for all performances or acting as the deck electrician, repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting of conventional Pre-production work and planning with other production departments, assisting in rehearsals and load-in/strike as necessary, supervising the electrics team, repairing and maintenance of conventional, and maintaining and organizing Lighting Department inventory and infrastructure. Must be comfortable working at heights and able to lift and carry 50 pounds. Rigging, ladder work, and lift experience required. Experience with lighting rigs of 200+ units, moving lights, board operation, focusing, and Lightwright 5 (or newer) & Vectorworks 2015 (or newer) preferred. This is a seasonal hourly position with benefits. Hourly rate starting at $15, based upon experience.
