Box Office Associate

Under the direction of the Box Office Manager, the Box Office Associate is responsible for selling tickets to the Richmond Ballet professional company and School of Richmond Ballet performances. Additional duties include fulfilling subscriber and group sales requests, data entry, and other administrative tasks as assigned.

Working closely with the marketing and development teams, the Box Office Associate will help with performance communications, as well as synthesizing information between subscriber and donor databases. Ideal candidate will possess a demonstrated interest in arts administration, excellent customer service, written and oral communication skills, and strong attention to detail.

Evenings and weekends are required during performance weeks.

Job Responsibilities:

• Sell tickets to all Richmond Ballet and School of Richmond Ballet performances over the phone, by mail, and in person at the box office;
• Ensure the timely processing of all ticketing transactions and maintenance of accurate patron data in the ticketing database;
• Provide a high level of customer service to all patrons;
• Assist with the printing and distribution of will call tickets;
• Fulfill subscription and group sales requests;
• Maintain proper cash handling procedures and end of day balancing of cash;
• Assist with performance communications and synthesizing information between the donor and ticketing databases;
• Data entry and other clerical administrative tasks;
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are within the scope of the job.

Education/ Experience:

• High School Diploma; or GED required;
• 1+ years previous customer service experience;
• Prior dance/ theater production experience preferred;
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
