Extraordinary dancing for extraordinary times. Originally slated to appear in our April 2020 New Works Festival, Alvin Ailey-trained Levi Marsman makes his Richmond Ballet choreographic debut with a world premiere. Sweet Bitter Love by renowned dancer and choreographer Carmen de Lavallade returns to the Studio Theatre stage; this passionate duet, with music sung by Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway, highlights the strength and emotional depth of its dancers. Closing the program is the concert version of George Balanchine’s Who Cares? Set to the beloved strains of George Gershwin, this carefree work is sure to send audiences smiling into summer!

Virtual tickets are $20. For patrons who would prefer to watch from the comfort of home, we are pleased to provide unprecedented access to the performance by offering virtual tickets. On the evening of Sunday, May 23rd, virtual ticket buyers will receive an email with information on how to access the performance recording, which will be available to stream for one week.
