Classical Ballet Training & Technique

Intro to Adult Ballet I: This four-class course is designed for true beginners and those seeking to better understand and improve the most basic ballet positions and steps. Susan Israel Massey will teach the small group class, touching on history, basic technique, and terminology, giving students the extra attention necessary for starting ballet. Each class builds upon the next, incorporating basic barre work and center work. After completion of the course, students transition into the Ballet I class with more confidence and ease. Register for the in-person course under the Enrollments tab in MINDBODY or rent the Intro to Adult Ballet I course on our On-Demand library here.

Ballet I Beginning: Recommended for students who have completed Intro to Adult Ballet I or have had some previous ballet training and are further developing their proficiency at beginner steps and combinations.

Ballet I Continuing: Students in this level already have a foundational understanding of ballet terminology and technique. This class is a great option for those revisiting ballet as an adult, or for students who have regularly attended Ballet I Beginning. Class material advances from Ballet I Beginning to include movements with greater complexity and coordination.

Ballet II: Building on a strong foundation, expect to get stronger and work both your mind and body, focusing on clean technique and port de bras.

Ballet III: For the knowledgeable dancer who can move at an accelerated pace. This ballet level focuses on mastery of technique and musicality.
