Lower Division - Richmond Ballet

Lower Division

Ages 8–14 / June 20 - July 23

Building a foundation

The School of Richmond Ballet Lower Division features three levels of ballet instruction for students beginning at age eight. Students attend twice weekly ballet classes that incorporate barre and center work and have the option of adding character dance and theatre dance classes.

Advancement through the Lower Division is based on a student’s level of skill and accomplishment, not his or her age. The School’s faculty evaluates and places each student in the appropriate level.

Note: New students with previous training must be placed by the School of Richmond Ballet faculty prior to the start of the fall session.
