Youth Performances at Richmond Ballet offer students a unique opportunity to step inside the world of professional dance. Our youth performances are open to pre-K through 12th grade students and their teachers. Public schools, independent schools, and home-school co-ops are all welcome!

When school groups arrive, the curtain is open, offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the final moments of preparation before the ballet begins. Students observe the production artists and crew and watch dancers take their places for the top of the show, providing an educational and inspiring look at what happens backstage.
For the 25/26 season we are excited to offer youth performances for The Nutcracker December 10-11, 2025 and Giselle on February 13, 2026.

The Nutcracker Youth Performances:
Performances are located at Carpenter Theatre at Dominion Energy Center, 600 East Grace Street Richmond, VA 23219.

Youth Performance 1: Wednesday, December 10 | 10:15AM-11:15AM (preshow talk begins at 9:55 am)
Youth Performance 2:Wednesday, December 10 | 11:55AM-12:55PM (preshow talk begins at 11:35 am)
Youth Performance 3:Thursday, December 11 | 10:15AM-11:15AM (preshow talk begins at 9:55 am)
Youth Performance 4: Thursday, December 11 | 11:55AM-12:55PM (preshow talk begins at 11:35 am)

All Youth Performances of The Nutcracker will be ACT II only and will feature recorded music.

Giselle Youth Performances:
The performance is located at Carpenter Theatre at Dominion Energy Center, 600 East Grace Street Richmond, VA 23219. Friday, February 13, 2026 | 1:00PM The Giselle Youth Performance will be ACT 1 only with live music from the Richmond Symphony Orchestra.

ADMISSION FOR ALL YOUTH PERFORMANCES:
$12 per student for school groups of 10 or more. There will be ONE complimentary chaperone/teacher ticket for every 10 student tickets purchased.
Additional chaperones/teachers are welcome for a charge of $15 per person. Children under the age of four will not be admitted.

RESERVATIONS:
To reserve tickets for the The Nutcracker Youth Performance, please email Devin Joyner with the preferred date and time of the performance. A reservation form will be sent to you as soon as preferences are received. Please note reservations are accepted based on available seating. *Reservation forms for The Nutcracker are due by November 14th, 2025 and payment is due by December 1, 2025.
*Reservation forms for Giselle are due by January 21, 2026 and payment is due by February 2, 2026.
