Richmond Ballet, The State Ballet of Virginia, returns to Hampton Roads for an evening of exquisite dance featuring a mixed repertory of works created for Richmond Ballet by four renowned choreographers of today.
Evoking the atmosphere of an aquarium, Katarzyna Skarpetowska’s Akwarium reflects the very human experience of sharing space, and the encounters, random or otherwise, that we have along the way. Claudia Schreier’s duet Lost Keys is a beautiful expression of partnership set to music inspired by the chaotic reality of a late-night New York City subway station. Choreographer Norbert De La Cruz III takes a top-down look at the journey of life in the ethereal Bird’s-Eye View. In Vanishing Point, choreographer Young Soon Hue explores the emotional and universal themes of desire, love, and loss.
