Alejandro Mariño Hechavarria began dancing in his home country of Cuba at the Cuba National Ballet School. He was then accepted into the National Ballet of Cuba as a corps de ballet dancer. He came to the United States in the summer of 2022 to train at Hollywood Ballet Academy in South Florida, under the direction of Adiarys Almeida and Taras Domintro. In 2023, he joined BalletMet’s second company where had the pleasure of performing in a variety of works by Edwaard Liang, The Times Are Racing by Justin Peck, and The Nutcracker by Gerard Charles. He is incredibly excited to join Richmond Ballet this season.
