Darius Mealy was born and raised in Richmond, VA. He began dancing in the fourth grade through Richmond Ballet’s Minds In Motion program. While a part of Minds In Motion, Darius started his ballet training at School of Richmond Ballet with the Stoner Winslett Scholarship. He rose through the ranks of the School, which culminated in two years as a Trainee, one year as an RBII Apprentice and one year with the Studio Company. He has performed roles in George Balanchine’s Serenade, John Butler’s Carmina Burana, and Edward Stierle’s Concerto Con Brio. This is Darius’ first year with the professional company.
