Kaitlin Roemer, from Highland, MI, began dancing at MMDCo at the age of five. In her teens, she trained with Sergey Rayevskiy, Director of Ballet Detroit at the Detroit Opera House, where she had the opportunity to represent them at the Dance Open Festival in St. Petersburg, Russia. She then moved to Atlanta to pursue pre-professional training at the Atlanta Ballet Center for Dance Education. Kaitlin was promoted to Atlanta Ballet 2 in 2020 and was promoted to Atlanta Ballet’s main company in 2022. Kaitlin danced the featured roles of Young Marie and the Chinese solo in Yuri Possokov’s The Nutcracker, and toured to The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. in 2019. She danced in world premieres of Remi Wörtmeyer’s Significant Others and Claudia Schreier’s Nighthawks. Kaitlin also had the opportunity to perform works by and work with talented choreographers including Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Johan Kobborg, Mark Morris, Kiyon Ross, Bruce Wells, Juliano Nunes, Cathy Marston, and Viki Psihoyos. This is Kaitlin’s first season at Richmond Ballet, and she is thrilled to be here!
