Annual Giving Coordinator

The Annual Giving Coordinator works closely with the Development Director in developing and implementing engagement strategies to enhance and grow revenue from donors. This position will play a critical role in the donor stewardship strategy for Richmond Ballet. The position is focused on the annual giving process and the overall donor experience, including solicitation mailings, benefit delivery, strategy for events, donor communications, gift acknowledgements, fundraising benchmarking reports (renewals, lapsed donors, first time donors, etc.), and support for board development committees.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Support or lead the strategy for annual giving, including the delivery donor benefits, with the guidance of the Development Director
• Assist with the creation of a comprehensive stewardship program that appropriately and consistently promotes interaction with and recognition of donors at all levels
• With the support of the Development Director, conceptualize, draft, organize and deploy fundraising campaigns which includes messaging goals, timelines, list segments, revenue tracking and acknowledgement procedures
• Oversee the growth and management of giving by planning and executing the delivery of the appropriate benefits for each giving level
• Work with the Marketing team to create solicitations, invitations and year-round engagement strategies to retain current donors and attract new ones
• Create and execute timely acknowledgement for gifts to the annual fund, gala and special initiatives
• Serve as staff liaison to Individual Development Committee and by scheduling 2-3 meetings a year, working with Development Director and Committee Chair on drafting agendas, creating call lists,
and coordinating with committee members on personalized solicitations and follow ups. This position may also assist with other development committees (gala, corporate giving)
• Actively respond to patrons and donor inquiries, calls and emails while keeping the Development Director apprised of any issues
• Work with the Development Director and Development & Events Coordinator for the creation and execution of various donor stewardship functions
• Carefully track giving trends and follow donor habits to make sound projections and recommendations for future solicitation activities
• Record and maintain attendance for all donor-related events and Individual Committee meetings
• Coordinate Development & Special Events Coordinator on accurate gift recognition in season playbill and other recognition materials
• Serve as backup for updating and maintenance of donor/patron records within the database when applicable
• Maintain call records and email correspondences in the database
• Attend performances and events as Richmond Ballet development representative
• Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the job classification

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
• Experience with donor or constituent databases
• A belief in and enthusiasm for Richmond Ballet’s mission
• High level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills with ability to prioritize tasks
• Imaginative, creative, and responsive attitude toward donor stewardship
• Skill in navigating different personality types among internal and external constituencies
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team; focused and goal oriented, with a high level of initiative and energy
• Proficient using Microsoft Office

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)
• 1+ years of experience working in development operations and/or donor relations

Salary Range: $42,000 – $45,000
