Production Technician

Under the direction of the Technical Director, the Production Technician is responsible for a broad range of technical duties and support functions related to the production of performances.  The Production Technician assists with the construction and materials of theatrical scenery. This position is responsible for assisting in the transportation of set pieces to the theatre venues and assembling scenery for the organization.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assists in the load in and load out of all productions and events;
• Provides support and assistance in scenic carpentry with the construction of sets and props;
• Assists production team to accomplish appropriate production expectations and timelines are met;
• Maintains equipment inventory and notifies management when there is a need for repair;
• Identifies technical challenges and develops proactive solutions;
• Assists in the set up and breakdown of studio theater riser system, including rigging;
• Maintains a safe working environment at all times including the safe operation of tools;
• Works flexible hours based on performances including evenings and weekends;
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are within the scope of the job.

Education/ Experience:

• High School Diploma; or GED required
• Prior dance/ theater production experience, preferably in a non-profit organization;
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
